News

Germany will need several hundred thousand additional nursing staff by 2035, as society is ageing and many employees themselves are retiring. Without international specialists, vacancies can hardly be filled, which poses a massive threat to security of supply.

The Skilled Immigration Act has made it easier for foreign nursing professionals to enter the country since 2020. With the introduction of the opportunity card, accelerated skilled worker procedure and recognition partnership, legal hurdles have been significantly reduced and procedures have been made more predictable.

Language skills are crucial for starting a career: as a rule, nursing staff must have at least B1 or B2 German. Specialized examinations such as "German B2 Nursing" or "Medical German" ensure that communication with patients and colleagues is successful in everyday life.
